For rescues

Listing standards

Short and plain: what the images on your listing need to be, and what happens when one falls outside the lines.

Last updated: September 2, 2026

Your listing is a page families and children look at when they are choosing a rescue to trust. These standards keep every page on All About Pets Directory readable, honest, and safe. By claiming or adding a listing you agree to them.

Real photos

  • Photos of your animals, your space, and your team. Real pictures you took or have the right to use.
  • Animal photos show the animal. A flyer, a map, a screenshot, or a graphic in an animal's gallery gets removed from that gallery.
  • Nothing explicit, violent, hateful, or shown for shock. A bandaged or recovering animal is fine. Cruelty shown to shock is not.

Your banner is a photo, not a poster

The banner is the wide picture across the top of your page. Your name, city, contact details, and links already show beside it, so the banner does not need to carry them.

  • Use a photo: your animals, your space, your volunteers, a happy adoption day.
  • Leave text, phone numbers, prices, and advertising off it. A small logo or watermark is fine.
  • Your logo belongs on the logo tile, where you can show it whole.

What we do with uploads

  • Every image is screened automatically the moment it is uploaded. An image that is explicit, violent, or hateful is refused on the spot and never stored.
  • A person on our team sees every new logo and banner. If a banner reads as a poster, we may swap it back to your previous picture and email you to explain why.
  • We remove anything that breaks these standards and, for repeated or serious cases, may suspend the listing.
  • Anything involving the sexual exploitation of a minor is reported to the Canadian Centre for Child Protection, as the law requires.
