Maya is a 4-6 year-old sweetheart who we rescued from a high kill shelter in California, the day she was to be euthanized. We could see in Maya's eyes that she had lost all hope, and it was obvious from the condition of her skin and coat that she had lived a life of severe neglect. Thankfully, with the love and care of Maya's amazing foster, who has spent the last few months, getting Maya to laser therapy appointments, keeping her on a special diet and giving her medicated baths, Maya looks amazing, feels amazing and is now ready for her forever home. Maya also entered our care as a very shut-down and confused soul who had a bit of a fear-based defensive side with other dogs. In the past few months, Maya has grown to absolutely adore her canine foster buddy, who has helped her become much more confident and ready for the world!
